 CourseEval Instructor Guide

 Instructor Instructions for accessing Course Evaluation reports.

Below you will find instructions on logging in to the system to retrieve your evaluation results/reports. There are many reporting options available, so please feel free to explore the features of the system.

After each evaluation period, the CoursEval system will send email notifications when the current term reports are available.  Prior term reporting is available at any time.

To access course evaluation reports, follow these steps:

 
     
  1. Open a web browser and go to: https://evaluation.uc.edu
  2. In the username and password fields, enter your 6+2 Username and your Central Login Service (CLS) password.
  3. Click “Log in” 

           
 

 

In CoursEval, there are two basic types of reports:

·
   Evaluation Reports
:  the preferred view of evaluations unless there are two or more
     instructors involved. This is also the report that is generated by clicking on the “View
     Report
” icon from the CoursEval home page. 

·   Individual Reports (Formerly Detailed Results): an alternative report that displays simple graphics.  It is the
     recommended view for team taught courses.
 

 

Evaluation Report

Select either report by hovering your mouse on the Reports icon and choosing which type of report you wish to view.

    

 

This screen displays the faculty list for the year, term and survey selected in the drop-down menus. To view the results for a different set of surveys, change the selections from the drop-down menus and allow the screen to refresh.

 
 

      On the Evaluation Reports bar:

      ·   Make sure that the drop down menu Type: is set to the correct survey type (i.e. Standard or Rotation).  Most
           evaluations are of the standard type.

      ·   Make sure that drop down menu Year: is set to the correct calendar year or Show All.
      ·   Make sure that drop down menu Period: is set to the term that you wish to view.
      ·   Make sure that drop down menu Status: is set to Show All.
      ·   Choose a survey from the Survey list or set the option to Show All.

 

There are two basic types of Evaluation Report viewsComparative and Individual
Select the type of report to view from the drop-down list next to View.

     

 

·   Comparative view: presents an overview of the performance of all individuals evaluated for each course.
·   Individual view: presents the performance of each person assessed in separate sections of the report.

     ◦  Individual (All) – same as Individual, but splits out each faculty member
     ◦  Individual (Faculty) – allows view of all reports for a single faculty member
     ◦  Individual (Student) – only used for student-focused evaluations


    ·   
Select the desired report by checking the box in the Include column.
       
 

       ·   
Select “View” button to view report.

 



The default report view will provide numerical results obtained for your course. If more than one course was selected from the reports page, they will be displayed in sequence as the page is scrolled. The default reporting system provides comparative results for your course, other courses in the department and all of the courses (campus wide) included on the same evaluation. Basic statistics are provided for use as well. Any of these reports can be printed by clicking the “Print” option located on the Evaluation Reports page, or pressing “CTL” + “P” on your windows machine keyboard or “Command” + “P” on your Mac keyboard once the report has been generated and is shown.

      

 

A PDF version of the report may be downloaded by clicking the “PDF” button located on the Evaluation Reports page.

      

 

Individual Reports(Formerly Detailed Results)
The Individual Reports screen focuses on individual performance. This screen displays the faculty list for the year, term and survey selected in the drop-down menus. 

To view the results for a different set of surveys, change the selections from the drop-down menus and allow the screen to refresh.


 

On the Individual Reports bar make:

      ·   Make sure that the drop down menu Type: is set to the correct survey type (i.e. Standard or Rotation).  Most 
          evaluations are of the standard type.
      ·   Make sure that drop down menu Year:  is set to the current year.
      ·   Make sure that drop down menu Period:  is set to the correct term.
      ·   Make sure that Survey is set to the desired survey. Some departments have multiple surveys for each term.

To view these reports, click on the small graph icon associated with the desired report.

       


     B.  
To get a downloadable PDF of these reports, click on the small PDF document icon associated with the desired
            report
              
 

     C.   These reports may be printed by clicking the “Print” option located on the browser menu at the top of the
      page, or by pressing “CTL” + “P” on your windows machine keyboard or “Command” + “P” on your Mac
      keyboard once the report has been generated and is shown.
