 Kaltura CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder Installation Instructions

 Instructions for installing the Kaltura CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder.

Minimum system requirements

The following are the minimum system requirements required to set up the Kaltura Capture Space Desktop Recorder: 
      ●   Windows 7,8, 8.1 32/64 bit with .NET Framework 4.0+ and Visual Studio runtime tools
      ●   Mac OS X 10.8 and up


Downloading and Installing the Capture Space Desktop Recorder

The Kaltura Capture Space Desktop Recorder can be launched from the My Media area in Blackboard or by clicking on the Kaltura Capture Space Desktop recorder icon on your desktop (after it has been downloaded and installed).

Follow the directions below to download and install the Kaltura Capture Space Desktop Tool.

1.   Login to Blackboard using your UC Central Login credentials. 

2.   Click on the My Media link on the left-hand side under the My UC tab.


3.   Click on the Add New button and select Launch CaptureSpace.



4.   A new window will open with downloading instructions.


5.   When downloading the application for the first time you may be prompted by the browser to approve the application. Each browser may prompt you with a unique message. The following screen shows the External Protocol Request window as it appears when using Chrome. Click on the Launch Application button to download the CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder to your computer.



6.   After the Kaltura CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder downloads, click Install.


*If using a Mac, drag the Kaltura CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder application to the applications folder.

7.   The following message will appear when the installation is finished.


8.   Click OK and go back to the My Media area in Blackboard.

9.   Click on the Add New button and select Launch CaptureSpace to open the CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder.



10.  The launch application window will appear to verify that you want to open the CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder. The Kaltura CaptureSpace Desktop  Recorder tool should be highlighted. Click OK.


11.  The CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder tool will launch.
