 MacOSX Display Scroll Bars

Instructions for displaying hidden scrollbars in OSX 10.7 and later.

Beginning in Mac OSX Lion (10.7) and later OS versions, Apple changed the way scrollbars are displayed. The Default setting makes scroll bars invisible unless you are actively scrolling. This setting can cause applications that have scrollable areas to not display thereby hiding options or settings. To correct this, you can change your system preferences to always display scroll bars.

1.       Click the Apple in the upper left of your screen and select System Preferences.

2.       In the System Preferences window, click General.

3.       Under Show Scroll Bars, select Always.

4.       Scrollbars should now display in all applications with scrollable areas.
