 Cisco 7811 VoIP Phone Guide

 Information on the setup and use of the Cisco 7811 model of VoIP phone at The University of Cincinnati

Dialing Instructions

  • Emergency: dial 911
  • Campus phones:  dial the five-digit extension      6XXXX or 8XXXX
  • It is NO longer necessary to dial a 9 to call off campus.
  • Local: xxx-xxx-xxxx
  • Long Distance or Toll Free: 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx

Placing a Call on Hold

  • During a call, press the Hold button 371848 or softkey
  • Press Resume to retrieve

o If multiple calls are on hold, use navigation key to select desired call with softkey

 

 Call Waiting

  • Upon hearing call waiting tone, press the Answer softkey
  • (Current call is automatically placed on Hold)
  • See above to switch between calls

 

 Transferring a Call 

  • Press the Transfer button 371850 or softkey
  • Dial number
  • Press the Transfer button or softkey again

If Receiving Party Refuses Transfer:

  • Press End Call softkey
  • Press Resume softkey

 

 Transfer Call Direct to Voicemail 

  • Press the Transfer button 371850 or softkey
  • Press * and dial the 10-digit extension
  • Press the Transfer button or softkey again

 

 Conference Call

  • Allows up to 6 participants including initiator
  • During an active call press Conference 371849 or softkey
  • Dial number
  • Press Conference button or softkey again
    • Repeat
   

Voicemail Setup

  Press the Messages key

  When prompted enter the default PIN

                            5566245#

  Follow Prompts to Completion

o   Set new PIN (at least 6 digits, cannot be same or consecutive digits)

o   Record name

o   Record standard greeting

 

Accessing Voicemail 

From Your Desk Phone

   Press the Messages key         

   When prompted enter your voicemailPIN

 

From Another Desk Phone

  • Press the Messages key

  Press * 1, then your 10-digit extension, then #

  Enter your voicemail PIN

 

Standard Keys 

When Sending, Forwarding or Replying to a Message

0 = Conversation Help

* = Exit or Cancel

# = Skip or Move Ahead

## = Toggle between entering an extension number or spelling a subscriber’s name

 

Changing Setup Options

To change your PIN, change your recorded name, or re-record available greetings:

  Press 4

  Select the appropriate option and follow the prompts

 

Basic Menu Options 

1 = Check New Messages

2 = Send a Message

3 = Review Saved Messages

4 = Setup Options

Change PIN 

·   Login to voicemail

·   Press 4-3-1

·   Enter new PIN

·   Press #

·   Enter new PIN again

·   Press #

 

Change Your Recorded Name 

·   Login

·   Press 4-3-2

·   At the tone, record your name

 

Message Commands While Listening

1 = Restart                              5 = Change volume

2 = Save                                  6 = Fast playback

3 = Delete                               7 = Rewind

4 = Slow playback                   8 = Pause/Resume

# = Forward to end                 9 = Fast forward

## (in this section only) = Skip to next message, keeps current message as new       

 

Message Commands After Listening

1 = Repeat                                 5 = Forward

2 = Save                                     6 = Mark as new

3 = Delete                                  7 = Rewind

4 = Reply                                    9 = Play msg header

# = Save as is

Voicemail Web Portal

Listen to messages on your workstation

       Web to https://vmail.uc.edu/inbox

  • Login with your CLS username and password, select messages
  • Select the message and press
