WHAT IS THE BOX MOBILE APP?

The Box mobile app allows Box at UC users to collaborate and share files on their favorite mobile device. With the Box mobile app, you can upload, download and edit Box files on the go with mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets. The Box mobile app also features a unique touchscreen interface and easy-to-use navigation.

INSTALLATION & SETUP

The Box mobile app is easy to setup and is available on multiple mobile platforms, including Android, Apple iOS for iPhone and iPad, Windows 10 Phone and Blackberry 10 devices. You can download the app from your device’s app store (links below).

Setup

1.       Go to your app store and download the Box app for free to your specific mobile device (links above).

2.       Open the Box app and log into your Box at UC account using Single Sign-On (SSO). Sign in with your UC CLS credentials when prompted.

 

3.       You should now see your Box files and folders. Box will take you through a quick walkthrough of the app and then you will be all set to use Box for Mobile. For a more in-depth tutorial, view the Box Help Videos in the Additional Resources [link to additional resources] section.

BOX MOBILE WEBSITE

Box’s website is also optimized for mobile web browsers. If Box doesn’t have an app that supports your device, or you don’t wish to install the mobile app, then the Box mobile website is your best option. Simply navigate and login to https://m.box.com and sign-in using Single Sign-On.

Note: Make sure your mobile browser is up to date when using Box’s mobile website.

MICROSOFT OFFICE MOBILE INTEGRATION

You can also add Box as a service in the mobile versions of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This allows you to open and edit Box documents with ease using Microsoft Office Mobile. This feature is available on your favorite Android or Apple mobile device. Functionality between the two platforms is a little different, so the steps are separated by operating system. Remember to have the Box mobile app installed beforehand. Note: You may need an Office 365 account to save content back to Box. Otherwise, you can only view files for free.

 

Android

1.       Open the Word, Excel or PowerPoint app on your Android device.

2.       Select Open from the app’s menu bar.

3.       Select the Browse option from the list of places.

4.       Select Box from the list of file services.

5.       Browse for the file you wish to open and tap on the file to open it.

Apple iOS

1.       Open the Word, Excel or PowerPoint app on your Apple device.

2.       Select your name at the top left and then + Add a Service.

3.       Select Box from the list of cloud services.

4.       Select Use Single Sign On (SSO) below the login box.

5.       Enter your UC email address then then select Authorize.

6.       Login using your UC 6+2 credentials.

7.       Finally, select Grant access to Box.

8.       Select Open and then Box to browse your files. Tap on the file to open it.
