 Instructions for opting out of the Box at UC enterprise by changing your Box email address.

What is a Personal Box Account?

A personal Box account is an account that exists outside of Box at UC enterprise system and utilizes a personal email address, such as Gmail or Yahoo. These accounts, by default, are limited to 10 GB of storage and a 250 MB upload limit (with the ability to purchase more).

What is the Primary Email Address?

The primary email address on a Box account is the default email for login and communication. The primary email is set when the Box account is first created, but it can be altered later on.

Changing the Primary Email Address

To change the primary email address on a personal Box account, follow these instructions:

 

Note: Box at UC users cannot change the primary email address on their Box account. This can only be done by special request. For more information on this, click here.

1.       Login to the personal Box account by going to https://app.box.com.

2.       Left-click on the profile icon (top-right) and select Account Settings.

3.       Scroll down to the section called Login and Email Addresses. If the new primary email address is not listed, select Add Email. The added email address will need to be confirmed before proceeding.

4.       Select Make Primary to change the primary email address. You may need to re-enter your password.

Removing Additional Email Addresses

After changing and assigning a new primary email address, the old address becomes removable. To remove non-primary email address from a Box account, follow these instructions:

1.       Login to the personal Box account by going to https://app.box.com.

2.       Left-click on the profile icon (top-right) and select Account Settings.

3.       Scroll down to the section called Login and Email Addresses. Select Remove to delete any unwanted additional emails.
