 UCVLabs - Virtual Lab Installation Instructions for MacOSX

 Instructions for installing and configuring the VMware View client for the UC Virtual lab on Mac.

*Note: Users connecting to the Virtual Labs from off-campus will need to connect to the University's VPN service. Instructions for can be found here:

1. Click HERE to be take nto the download page for the VMWare Horizon clients.
2. You will be taken to a VMware website.  Under “VMware Horizon Client for Mac”, choose the appropriate installer for MacOSX and select “Go to Downloads.”


3.  Select the most recent version of the VMware Horizon View Client.  By default, it should be the most recent (If you are on MacOS Mojave, then version 4.9 of VMware or later will be required).  Click “Download”.



4. Once the file is downloaded, run the setup file.  Accept the End User License Agreement by clicking “Agree”.


5. Drag the VMware View Client to the blue applications folder displayed.


6. Start the VMware View Client and if prompted click “Open” to allow the client to run. You should see an “Add Server” button.  Click on it and when prompted for the hostname enter “ucvlabs.uc.edu”. Then click “Continue”.

7. You will be prompted for a username and password. For the username enter your 6+2 username and the your central login service (CLS) password. Click “Continue”.

8. After you login, double click "Virtual Lab Pilot".


9. A Windows desktop should now appear. 

      Congratulations, you are now connected to the UCIT Virtual Labs!
