 Kaltura CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder Audio/Video Editing Guide

 Guide for editing video and audio using the Kaltura CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder tool.

There are two ways to edit video/audio using the CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder tool:

    Trimming—Allows trimming of the beginning and ending of a video/audio
    Chopping—Allows removing a portion of the video/audio

Opening the editing window can happen in two ways:

1.   The preview and edit window will launch automatically after you are finished recording video, screen captures or audio recordings.

2.   In the Library tab, select the recording you would like to edit. Click on the Preview Media icon (the pencil) and then click on the Preview button at the bottom of the window to launch the editing & preview window.

            

 

Trimming a video

This option allows you to trim the beginning and ending out of a video/audio.

1.  In the Library tab, select the recording you would like to edit. Click on the Preview Media icon (the pencil) and then click on the Preview button at the bottom of the screen to launch the preview and edit window.

2.  Select Trim from the menu on the left. Two blue markers are displayed on the video strip.

 



 

3.    Use the Start and End markers to highlight the part of the recording you want to retain. The region to the left and right of the markers is greyed out. After trimming, the resulting video must be longer than 10 seconds.

4.  Click the Apply button at the bottom of the preview and edit window to take the edits.

5.  Click the Done button when you are finished editing.

 

Chopping a video

This option allows you to chop out parts of the video that you do not need.

1.  In the Library tab, select the recording you would like to edit. Click on the Preview Media icon (the pencil) and then click on the Preview button at the bottom of the screen to launch the preview and edit window.

2.  Select Chop from the menu on the left. Two blue markers are displayed on the video strip.

 



 

3.    Use the Start and End markers to highlight the part of the recording you want to chop out. The video to the left and right of the markers will be the video that you want to keep. After chopping out unwanted video, the resulting video must be longer than 10 seconds for the edits to be applied.

 

4.  Click the Apply button at the bottom of the preview and edit window to take the edits.

5.  Click the Done button when you are finished editing.

 

Adding Titles to a video

1.   In the Library tab, select the recording you would like to edit. Click on the Preview Media icon (the pencil) and then click on the Preview button at the bottom of the screen to launch the preview and edit window.

2.   Select Titles from the menu on the left. There are several templates to choose from. You can edit the text on the titles. You can also add multiple titles to a video. 

 

 

3.   Click the Apply button at the bottom of the preview and edit window to take the edits.

4.   Click the Done button when you are finished editing.

 

Adding Credits to a video

1.    In the Library tab, select the recording you would like to edit. Click on the Preview Media icon (the pencil) and then click on the Preview button at the bottom of the screen to launch the preview and edit window.

2.    Select Credits from the menu on the left. There are several templates to choose from. You can edit the text on the credits. You can also add multiple credits to a video. 

 

 

 

 

3.    Click the Apply button at the bottom of the preview and edit window to take the edits.

4.    Click the Done button when you are finished editing.
